This morning I was unable to connect to MSN, which is very frustrating for me. At first I just waited a bit to see if it was a MSN issue, but after receiving some IMs (via AIM/Yahoo, etc) of others that were also having trouble with pidgin. A friend of mine told me to emerge x11-plugins/pidgin-msn-pecan-0.0.17 to fix the problem. This is currently masked, so you’ll need to add it to /etc/portage/package.keywords with the ~x86 flag. After emerging the plugin, edit the account and select WLM as the Protocol and save it. You should be able to logon now.
